As a very-long-time Traktor user, the last few years have been a rollercoaster of emotion thanks to the inconsistent roadmap and public perception of the app stagnating. I’m not one to be driven by the relentless consumerism surrounding constant feature updates, but it’s well known the software has desperately needed some fairly critical quality of life improvements for over a decade.
Now, we’re up to version 3.11 of Windo… – sorry, I mean Traktor Pro – and it’s all about the X1 MK3. The app now supports MIDI overmapping, which means you can edit how the controller works either using a provided TSI file (like the default mapping), or making your own from scratch.
Traktor Pro 3.11 is here
We wanted to let you know that we’ve made some updates to Traktor Pro, and version 3.11 is ready to be downloaded in Native Access.

This latest version includes lots of improvements to the X1 MK3 workflow, including an overmapping option and nudge control for Hotcues.
3.11 also improves the CPU efficiency of the master limiter, resolves aggregate audio device issues on macOS Sonoma, and much more. For more detail on the update, check out this article on the NI blog.
What we think
We missed the chance to talk about the Traktor X1 MK3 when it launched, but there was definitely a sense of relief and respect for NI that there was finally new hardware. It makes sense that some updates after would focus on adding features and tightening up the controller experience, but the public will notice when there isn’t any meaningful change to the core software.
The main thing is that the software is solid and reliable, even on the latest macOS version, and this update further improves the X1 MK3 experience. Still, it’d be good for Native Instruments to show progress on some of the features they’ve been promising.
Read more about the 3.11 update over on the Native Instruments blog, and grab the update through the Native Access app.
